    NORTH CAROLINA

I live in North Carolina. Animal control came to my house about 3 years ago. They said on of my neighbors call in on me. He told me I can only have 4 females on my yard. He said anything over 4. North Carolina consider you running a puppy mill. I told him I only make 1 breeding a year he said it do not matter. I end up get rid of 3 of my females. I think this is some b.s he was telling me. Because I know some hunters that have about 20 females and they look like crap. I never find anything saying that. Do anybody know anything about this law? I have search the internet couldn't find anything.

I live in NC as well. Laws change from state to state, county to county and town to town as well. I would say contact a lawyer in your area. I have not heard of that in my area but things change from county to county. My county does not have the same anti-tethering laws that others do. Tom Garner has a video of the pens he builds now in response to the anti-tethering laws in his county.

Just check with someone who knows. EWO

I told him I only make 1 breeding a year he said it doesn't matter. You can only have 4 females. He said that's a state law. I don't live in the city limits. I am 10miles from town. I just don't understand.

What County do you live in? I can try and look it up. We live in WV and before we moved from VA to WV we did a ton research to be sure that we had no stupid pet laws. We have " AT USE LAWS" which means it's your land do what you want with it. Now that being said we also looked for a trend in people trying to pass crazy laws and there where not any to be found.

I'm in the process of getting a place out in the country and I've been doing similar research about ordinances or laws here in TX. What I have found out is SOME counties do NOT know their own state laws. I had numerous people tell me that they had certain restrictions but it was the state law and not just a county ordinance, with me knowing it wasn't the state law, I just continued to search different areas that didn't enforce this false belief of the state law. Do your research on the NC state law so you're educated on the subject. The county you live in might just be enforcing a law that they have a misunderstanding on the meaning.

Yes and be sure to print the law out with all codes attached so that if and when the AC shows up you can present this to them.

Blackfist, check Jack's thread http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum...ING-REGULATION it is more than likely what that AC officer who visited you was quoting.

This is nation wide legislation. There are exclusions for hunting/ show dogs, hence the folks you know who aren't being bothered. You own hunting/show dogs....right?
