Thread: The Single Gamest Dog ...

Big Grin The Single Gamest Dog ...

    Here is a fun topic

What is the single gamest dog you have ever owned?

This is not to imply that "all your other dogs were curs," lol, but surely everybody has ONE dog that stands out, that was so game they had gameness to spare ... one where you would bet your life that dog would never quit, regardless of any circumstance. For me, that dog was Red Sonja:

I have owned many game dogs, I have bred many game dogs, but this bitch was something truly special, truly once-in-a-lifetime. You could literally "feel" her gameness: it beamed out of her in everything she did. (So many funny stories to tell ). And people would almost line-up to pet her, afterwards, after seeing how intense and determined she was.

It was a hollow, hollow day when she passed ... as I knew there would never be another dog like her again, no matter how many game, or even great dogs I bred ... there would only be only ONE Vise-Grip's Red Sonja.

Her ability was only average, but her enthusiasm for her job, and her relentless determination to absolutely positively triumph just made you smile

So here is your chance to give props to the ONE "gamest dog you ever had" ... the one dog you know in your bones will never be replaced ...

I have owned others that would make any dog man proud to feed, but yella is one of those 1%'ers.

    Nice, both of you.

Skipper, what is the pedigree of that dog? It is beautiful.

Kandyman, who is the owner of Ole Yella? He is a scrappy looking dog, and I would like to see the owner name on there too, not just the dog name.

    Thanks,

Man this is a good ass topic. I had to call my cousins to ask their opinion on what they thought bout the gamest one i've had and we all came up with the same dog. http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum...p?dog_id=32395. I breed redboy/ jocko dogs yet this is the gamest dog i have ever witness in my life. She had 3 flats early in the trip and still pulled it off with row boat runs and finished.

A little brown Phill D. bred dog named Penut .. took a murderous ass kicking for close to 2 hours , never turned , back peddled, made a sound ... nothing . Keeping him alive for the next 3 weeks took the hand of God. He was returned to P.D. , not sure what the future held for him , but he sure set the bar high around these parts when talking about truly game dogs.

How did she produce Jack? Did she pass those traits to her offspring?

She produced great, and yes she passed it.

Her son Thunder, and her daughter Screamer (both to Poncho) comprise the highest-percentage game dogs I've bred.

When I bred Poncho back to Screamer (off Red Sonja) that is what produced Duke, Jezebel, Athena Red, Mystery, Laguna Sunrise.

Not only was it an all game litter itself, but no dog matched off of any of these dogs ever quit either. Almost all of them won, with 1 loss (game to a Ch) and a draw in 2:50. The rest won, many in over 2 hours.

Thunder was only bred twice, and is the dam of Sassy, Razor (dam to Ch Miagi, Ch Pierce, etc.), Lu Lu (dam to Ch Mr. Serious), as well as Mileena (dam to Ch Monster), etc.

So the gameness in Red Sonja was no fluke
