What are your thoughts and why...
Fair price for the service offered?
Or too expensive?

Well, I've been making a lifestyle change lately anyway and was already in the stages of cutting expenses that are not necessary but was considering renewing here when my time is up but with the new price I won't be. I'm not a "retard, drop out, nay sayer, reject or broke dick" , just somebody who was making changes anyway and the price hike was the decision maker for me with this site. It's a nice site and who knows what I'd do if I was spending money recklessly like I used to do from time to time.

It is a matter of good business. You target the customers (members) you want and then you aim to maximise revenue. So, Jack has to judge from the members he would probably preffer not to have here, which ones would not pay the $100. Also how many members he might loose, that he would like to keep, from the new multi times increased rate. Final thoughts, how this would work for potential members, would they pay the fee for something they can not see/judge for a lets say a "test" period? Always accounting also for Jack's reputation.

I feel the same as tasoschatz. I work everyday and am in the process of buying a new home. Working with financial planner a $100 to a dog pedigree database would not be a necessity. Its a great site and I enjoy the info. Just not at that rate. I very much respect the work put in to create this. So I can't say its not worth it. Just not for me.

I see the purpose of doing it, as it should indeed weed out the shitheads... but I think there are other alternatives also....

Hi all. I am sitting in a lawyer's office right now, waiting in the lobby, prepared to take a recorded statement.
I appreciate everyone's input.
I saw some things that were said, and want to clarify a few facts:
1. There is no site that can do all the things this site does. Not one.
2. There is no site that is run by anyone with the dog knowledge I have. Not one.
3. There is no site who has behind it the.mind my brother has, to continuously customize the features to fit the user needs, ideas, and concepts. Not one.
4. $100 year = $8.33 month. That's about the cost of an extra burger, fries, and a soda once a month.
5. So, yes, if that's too much for anyone to handle, they are indeed a broke dick. Period
I respect every good, contributing member here, but let's stop the excuses about money. $100/yr is flyshit.
Hell, I pay $150/month for the ISP that hosts this place
This will be my last comment and to each his own.

Love the database Jack created here. Lots of great info and resources but I guess once my subscription is over I won't be renewing it. Like others have said, it's not that I can't afford it ;-) I just simply choose not to subscribe. I get and understand the concept that Jack utilized to benefit his dogs and I'm glad I came upon his database and books/DVD's. I have already bought the books the DVD's and read all the articles here...if I don't get the concept by now, staying in here won't benefit me much. I believe if I were to need the stats and data about other people's dogs and bloodlines then this database would be beneficial but I don't really care much about other people's dogs and bloodlines. I only care about what I have and if I want to know more about a specific dog/bloodline I'll have to do my homework using other resources. No hard feelings Jack! I totally respect your decision on increasing the fee. If you ever have any new products/books/DVD's I'll surely buy from you again. :-)

Also, I really enjoy the informational threads and discussions brought up in this forum but I have to say, I'm really sick and tired of the name callings, cussing & bitching. To "me", that's just not professionalism.
