Thread: INTERNATIONAL SPORTING DOG JOURNAL

I do not know Floyd "The Oldman" but had the pleasure of meeting him once back in the late 90's. He had that same expression on his face back then as he does in what looks to be a current picture now.

A very respectful, humble man who undoubtedly has bulldog blood running through his veins.

We sure could use more guys like him.

I met Floyd too, back in 1994, and I believe he has had the same expression on his face his whole life

It's hard to run a mag these days, so I am sure it suffers from most people NOT wanting to contribute, but the guy does a helluva job IMO.

Thanks Jack! I sure appreciate your encouraging comment! Running a mag these days is sometimes a nightmare...I'll admit that we don't have a large subscriber base, but what we have is stable and it's enough. I have optimism and after all, it is worth the trouble!

Nice dog, pic, and accomplishment Bulldog Anonymous. Somewhere I have a picture with Floyd, myself, and others from a BBQ my partner had that Floyd came to years ago. It was Floyd, Weldon, Cecil Pond, Greasy Corner, McCool, and a few other oldtimer and good dogmen. Helluva time and good food. I talked reading pedigrees with Floyd that day and breeding techniques that interested me as I was still pretty fresh with dogs and asked his thoughts. The second of time I got with him looking back was cool. Hell it was about 60 ppl pulling the man every which way, good time.

Sounds like a good ol time EGK. I really need to make it to one of them BBQ's. Get me a fresh batch of Weldons dip. LOL

Lmao man that dip good. Last year was rough on the old timer. We lost Cecil and Burton, Bennett, and a few other just weren't in the best shape. Hopefully this year we can have ourselves a real good one to remember. I might have to drive Weldon myself but we'll try.
