I think anyone who's honest, and who looks at the facts, and compares them to any other dog's historical accomplishments, can do nothing but acknowledge Gr Ch Titere's accomplishments for what they are.
A living legend, no doubt about it

When I saw the SDJ didn't give it to him I was disappointed as he made history beating a DOY and doing it in impressive fashion a legendary animal. Grip is a great dog also so Congrast to him and his camp.
True. It is tough to make a decision when there are other worthy dogs.
But there really is nothing to debate as far as level of accomplishments go.
Doesn't mean these other dogs aren't truly awesome animals, with truly worthy accomplishments; it just means the wins they had were not as historically-significant as the win Titere pulled off.
And winning 5 is not winning 7 ...
And the next generation is looking just as strong.
Absolutely like I said before regardless of the DOY winner some will always disagree, but Grip is deserving.
I'm biased so of course he should of won DOY lol
Jack I do agree which your choice of Titere; but to Triangle Gang's defense, Grip did defeat a Gr.Ch(8xw) to make GrCh. And what is even more impressive is that I hear TG is still out on the trail with him.
That is a hard call to make, and thank you for the additional info.
Still, as great as a 4xW beating an 8xW is, it does not have the same historical impact as the 2012 DOY facing the 2013 DOY ... for a Clash of the Titans in 2014 ... with both being 6xWs ... and one losing game while the other went on to win a 7th run.

The accomplishment of Grip is outstanding (winning 5, beating an 8xW) ... but the historical significance is only so-so.
The accomplishment of Titere is likewise outstanding (winning 7, beating a 6xW) ... but the historical significance of one DOY facing last year's DOY ... pushing weight ... and winning decisively to earn his 7th run, will quite likely never be repeated again.
For a magazine to have two of its 6xW/GrCh/DOYs, back-to-back, face each other for the next year to settle it ... was the story of a lifetime.
All of these dogs deserve Honorable Mention, but Titere's win has to be seen as the most historically-significant.
Jack
I do most certainly agree with your pick of Titere and the reasoning behind it.
