Pull the trigger. As the old folks say, "Think long, thing wrong".
First option, do it, gives it a chance and you can work things out when they get here.
Don't do it and you will never know.
Not knowing will always be the worse of the two.
I like the 2nd one a lot.

Thank you sir I believe you are right and I think I will do it. I waited too long with his mom and only got one litter off her and kicked myself in the ass a long time for having not bred her sooner or more.

Words of wisdom EWO.
Both beeding look nice................
Nuttin to it but to do it. EWO is very wise in his words!
I always wait for the best time and often times that time never comes! Missed out on a few I surely regret now.

Creek Bottom if you have been exercising this older stud dog, the brood bitches, and keeping the dogs lean. Will greatly improve your chances of getting pups. Many swear by Tom Garner's product that helps an old dogs sperm count as well. Stud dog and breeding females still need daily exercise.
Adding a tablespoonful of Desiccated Liver, Debittered Yeast,1/4 cup of (non medicated) Calves milk or Skim milk and one boiled egg in the feed daily will work wonders. A good producing stud or brood bitch should be prepared well in advance for a breeding. No different than preparing a match dog for a show.
While the brood bitch is carrying the pups, this female should get some light daily exercise and the meals broken up in two feedings a day. Especially while nursing the pups.
Another mistake made with the care of a brood bitch is not having enough outside area on the ground. Or long enough outside length to those brood pens off the ground. Need a rest bench made so the bitch can leave the pups and jump up on this bench and get rest from the litter. Especially when they get around four weeks old.
Make the rest bench high enough so the pups cannot crawl up on it and worry the mother dog. Wide enough, long enough for the mama dog to stretch out, sleep and rest. This takes a lot of stress off the brood bitch. When her udders get swollen with milk and in the night etc. She will nurse the pups the way it should be done. Mama knows best. LOL
One thing I was really good at was raising big boned healthy pups. With the brood bitch looking in great shape before and after a litter of pups.
P.S. Never use the (medicated calves milk), only the (NON medicated calves milk), if you go that route. You need dense calories with high quality protein and fat level at least 20%. IMHO I personally recommend a top quality kibble with at least 12 % moisture and say 32% protein and at least 20% fat. Being a meat Chicken based kibble. You can cook up some Chicken necks and Chicken backs in a pressure cooker to add to all of above and some greens will not hurt either to keep the brood bitch bowels regular. Cheers
