    McCollum aka Greasy Corner Kid

I'd like to get some feed back on the McCollum line of dogs. All feedback is appreciated, I know GCK's Gr. Ch. Spanky is the charge that gave Simba his loss. I'd like to hear anything else that can be shared about this family. It appears that GCK used high quality individuals from several different families to creat his own family of dogs. Looking forward to getting some feedback.

Mark Anthony of MAD/Dead Serious Kennels and Pinolero's Kennel is using dogs from his line as stud dogs. MAD has been breeding a whole bunch of gyps to Hydro. This just happened.

The blood is out there and I know of two men that have the best of it, I would get a few well bred gyps and back em' up to Solo Joe, Throwed Off and Snoopy Boy.

Randy was mentored by some of the best of his time when he was coming up, men like Earl Tudor, Leo Kinard, Bobby Hall, Bert Clouse. Bob Wallace, Ralph Greenwood and Danny Burton. Regardless of how many years he had in the game Randy never let ego come into play for himself with regards to him wanting to learn what he could from men he respected, be they his peers or seniors.

Gr Ch Spanky was his favorite stud dog and his crosses with Rowdy and Tommy Randy always felt produced his best dogs. Randy was a fan of very, very selective line breeding but was an strong advocate for outs to keep his blood fresh but his base was always Eli through different strains. His favorites in terms of performance were Spanky, Rowdy, Driller, Jessie Jr, Tommy and Buster.

His preference was for gameness ,then mouth, then ability, then wind, then brains all packed in a head or gut dog.

Ok, thanks again. If you don't mind me asking.. what's your opinion of the Hydro dog? Is he a good representative of what Randy would use in his breeding program? We can PM any further conversations on this subject if you like.

I know the ped of the Hydro dog only and not the dog himself. The only thing I can tell you is that Randy thought VERY highly of Nitro, the sire to the Hydro dog. If I myself was looking for a gyp that IMO represented Randy's direction I would get something off of that Aquiles dog but that's just me and hey, what the heck do I know
