Bulldogs and Social Media

I have a question for the community. Is it okay to post pictures of Bulldogs on social media sites suck as Facebook and InstaGram? I know a guy who posts pics of his hounds on his instagram page. I mean if that's what he wants to do, that's his right. He also posts pics of Bulldogs that belong to working kennels. I'm certain those kennels would not like for their dogs to be viewed by the public like that. I was scrolling through some of his photos, reading comments, and they were not bulldog friendly as I'm sure most of you can imagine. It's already hard for us with PETA and SPCA and other organizations, all these new laws and stuff. Does anyone relate to what I'm saying?

I don't mind it at all. I post mine on instagram all the time. But then again I'm not in the US. I mean of course it depends on what kind of pictures you're posting. If you're posting 2 dogs snarling at each other really close then it might not be a good idea especially if you're in the US or UK where the laws regarding APBTs are a lot more strict than other countries.

Occasionally I will post my dogs on social media, but it's really not my thing

I have a flip phone still, with no internet service, so for me it is a non-issue.

If the internet is the work of the devil, then Social Media would be the spawn children of the devil.

I would lean toward 'not' but that is just me and I would not want someone else posting pictures of my dogs.

I do enough self indictment on here with words, I could only imagine what a few pictures would say.

It's a double edged sword in a sense.. on one hand as long as the pictures are in good taste and not incriminating I don't see a problem with it. Bulldog folks tend to be very proud of what they feed and might want to show a few pictures off for gratification reason's. It's not illegal to own a Bulldog but on the other hand it does sometimes draw unwanted attention by just posting a few pictures.
I also look at it like this.. as long as Dogmen and woman hide from the public it really tends to give the anti-Bulldog folks leverage. It makes it to where their voice and presence is the only one being seen and heard. It's a real shame things have gotten to this point that we even have to have this conversation.

Yeah I agree Blade. It just draws too much negative, unwanted attention. For example, dude put up a picture of a breeding he did. But in that picture was a dirty yard and Bulldogs on chains. Nothing wrong with dogs on chains but a dirty yard? Come on...and the comments were just stalraight nasty. "Why are the dogs on chains" "backyard breeder" all types of stuff. If you're gonna put pics of your dogs, at least clean your yard first.

If one has two dogs that will breed with a lead and no excessive restraints the picture may be OK. Clean the yard and use a breeding stand and it is just as bad if not worse.

I guess my issue is that a lot of times people see what they want to see. I may see a well shaped young dog the next guy sees a half starved, neglected dog of a despicable dog fighter.

I'm more of an each his own person so if a person wants to show some dogs on social media, by all means do so. But at the same time there can't be much surprise when there is a knock on the door.

We live in a time right now where most feel entitled to express their opinions about the next person. It's really always been that way but with the mass delivery of the Internet it can reach and effect far into ones personal life.

I've never seen instagram or twitter, tried Facebook briefly and it's just not for me at all. I like to be private about the way I go through life so those sites totally invade that for me. I get completely infuriated when I get telemarketing calls and during my brief Facebook session I experienced a load of those calls. I never shared my number with them or my actual email addresses but they found them out despite me being careful.

When I was younger I liked to tell people about my dogs in a proud way, now I avoid telling folks at all. When someone can be charged with a crime for having a phone conversation about dog fighting because they own a few dogs without any other evidence....I say your flirting with the devil posting pics of your dogs anywhere. It doesn't matter if you're fighting them or not if you cherish the history you're guilty in today's society.

I'm with you word for word.

I can remember when I rode up and down the road with these dogs with not a care in the world. Partly it was different times and mostly I was young and dumb.

I may be just lucky because if social media were available when I was a young man I'd have spent time in the clink by now.

My sister on the other hand uses social media to chronicle her day, they tell me almost minute for minute.

We are polar opposites.

True story. My wife has a facebook account. She read some stuff to me and then walked out of the room with the lap top open. A guy I went to school with was talking suicide on facebook. Good bye cruel world. The whole nine.

From the outside looking in he appears to have it licked. He went to college. He came home and his parents gave him three apartment complexes to manage. In turn he hired a staff. My buddy did some maintenance work for him and he meets with the staff 30 minutes on Mon-Wed-Thurs. Plays golf, travels the rest of the time. Basically never worked a day in his life.

He uses face book suicide to garner attention. I have heard the story a number of times.

I replied via my wife's account that said, "Hey, if you are going to do it the least you can do is go outside and do it on the street curb for an easier clean up. I mean, there is no need to mess up a new piece of carpet because that is all we will be losing. A good piece of commercial berba.

My wife got a couple of likes, and then an outpouring of her being a cold hearted bitch. Then I got an ass chewing from her.

My one and only face book posts proves I am not the type to handle that kind of responsibility.
