Thread: What's an ace?

The ace will always show you a trick that you never knew he had.

Agreed with the above post, the ace will always have the answer, especially when you did not know he had the answer or would have had the answer.

I felt like DTA's CH. Charlie was an ACE. He breezed through school. He was a replacement dog his first time out. Incredible odds against him, after a few minutes of calculating he positioned himself to where he was not being hurt yet he was laying pipe. The second was an ass end specialist and Charlie although never being hit in the tail nor hitting in the tail, scratched to the other's ass end. His third was a another incredible dog who had beat three really good dogs. Charlie again positioned himself to a sweet spot, stayed there til things slowed and then throat checked.

No matter what was put n front of him he used mental skills first/physical skills second.

ACE is nothing more than opinion. A very subjective opinion at that. My ace may be the next guys plug.

For me the ace just has to answer all the questions. If there is a time where the dog you mentioned needed to finish and he did not, for me he would not be an ACE. On the other hand, if he completely dominated the entire trip to the point the other dogs quits or is simply stopped, then he would be seen as an ace.

I think I would use the post from Black Hand above. That may some up what I was babbling.

Is DTA's Charlie in our system under another call name? Pedigree would not pull up? Cheers

He was a dog farmed to DTA. When the time for breeding rolled around he went back home.
