Not really. Truman had great looks, and was game as hell, but didn't have much ability.

Also, while I only bred Truman twice, when I bred him to Red Angel most of the pups were slow curs. When I bred Poncho to the same Red Angel bitch, I got all match-quality, super-athletic dogs.

Nostalgia-wise, Truman will always have a place in my heart, and his photo is on all of my books and products (because he was one of the best-looking dogs I have ever seen in my life). The truth is, rather than getting sperm off him, I simply wish I wouldn't have matched him, but bred him selectively, to keep the gameness and improve the ability.

But the simple fact is Poncho was by far the better dog and producer, and by a country mile, so if I was going to "collect sperm" Poncho is the dog I should have done that with.

PS: We're sabotaging Morrocco's post and probably should be discussing "other dogs" somewhere else besides his ad. I only posted a breeding I did (17 years ago) on here to show how he should be posting his own breedings
