Why not put this feature up again? I stick to my suggestion and find it a cool feature to have! I mean it doesn't harm and the ones who care can report it in the "documentation" of the pedigree, which is where it would serve clarity rather then to have to put the D.O.D. in the "notes". The others who don't remember or care for it could simply use the check box as hitherto.Yes!
We used to have a Date of Death, actually.
Here is something I really don't get. Why would someone enter a pedigree just to create a duplicate right away on excactly on the same day? Must stem from the way of thinking "better safe than sorry" lol.

Resulting in a duplicate for his son Lil Jake
Common sense isn't so common these days.
Ditto SGC. Have taken care of both duplicate pedigrees. All members please take note. A lot of this stuff we the Super Moderators can handle. If we cannot fix or correct the pedigree problem. That is the stuff that we refer to Ca. Jack. He has placed us in that position to not over lord over the rest of the members.
But to handle the work load of keeping this system running smoothly. So Jack and his brother can handle the really serious stuff. Cheers
One other thing all we members can do. If you find a duplicate pedigree with no offspring and has no syntax problems etc. You have a interesting new dog pedigree with complete sire and dam info. Just replace the duplicate dog that has no offspring with your new dog.
You can also enter the word duplicate on a male or female selection in the pedigree search section. Find a duplicate pedigree with no off spring listing. Can replace those with a new dog pedigree. Better than just deleting dogs. Some dogs have been accidently deleted that should have been corrected and left in the system for research purposes. Once deleted only Jack can reinstate the dog. Cheers
This dog is female and no male
