    Kemmer's book on conditioning

For any enthusiast interested in conditioning, this book would likely be a nice piece to have for historical purposes.

I just bought his book I smell blood today. Real excited for it. Do you know if the conditioning book has modern keeps or is it old school keeps?

Norman himself was a student of Don Mayfield. The keeps in this book are keeps that we're used by Normans crew over the years and shows how they evolved throughout that time. The book is laid out in way that it covers those years from the beginning till the last days of that crews hunting days. It's filled with interesting stories that you'll never hear anywhere else. It's good that you bought the "I smell blood" book first because it references a lot of information ( Background stories) leading up to this most current and last book of the three book series. Some people may find some of the information in the books as inflammatory because the author tells things about certain celebrity dog men that chose to go main stream and sale lots of dogs. But the reality is Norman was a very private man but also one of the most respected in the game back in the day. These books are worth reading if for nothing more than preserving the history of the game back in the days before things were made highly illegal and pushed decent people away and invited the worst kinds in.

Thanks for posting this. I did not know the third book was out.

The author must have a deal with Amazon as I just looked and the new book is on there too.
    Price of $151 so a savings of $48 --

    Here's the first book for $129 --

The second book is $51 --

I'm not a big fan of Amazon but I do like to save money when I can…
Common sense isn't so common these days.

Nice find SGC! I should also mention he has another book out that isn't part of the 3 book series. It is a little hard back version of his fathers original pocket sized Cajun rule book by Gaboon Trahan. It's a replica in hardback version.

I had seen the Cajun Rules book, forgot to mention it. I have an old copy. Good to see it reprinted so more can read it.
Yes, I've been a book collector for 50 plus yrs now and have learned to look around to find a better price.

I did a little more looking and found an even better price at the Alibris site, $139 there for the new book, and the first book, and they often have coupons --

    https://www.alibris.com/booksearch.d...=9781732828339

Alibris has all of Kemmer's books at a better price, and they are a pretty decent company, so if you don't like Amazon, try them --

Today's coupons (March 14) are below, $15 off on a $100 plus order, which makes the book $124…

    https://www.alibris.com/coupons

Alibris has coupons every week so if these are expired, there will be new ones posted…

Also they give a bigger discount for order of $100 plus, so buy one book at a time and wait for the next coupon, you'll save more that way.

I'm about 3/4 of the way thru "I Smell Blood" and it's already the best book I've read about the APBT ( just ahead of Complete Gamedog) and probably the best book I've read In the last 5 years overall. I own about 15 books on the APBT and this book as well as The Complete Gamedog are my favorites.

Kemmer goes into great detail of the Good, the Bad and the UGLY of the gamedog world during its peak and unlike most of the books written about the Apbt he does it like someone who is doing it over a beer. Too many of these apbt books are very dry or dance around topics or issues that might be considered rated R for most publishers. Its a very addictive read and fascinating. It pulls no punches.. Just ordered the conditioning book and the Fat Bill book as well due to how impressed I was with I Smell Blood.

Moray, these books definitely make all others seem G rated in comparison. If you like the I smell blood book, you'll really appreciate the I was tortured with Knowledge book.
