Natures Variety just had a recall on their Instinct Raw Chicken formula due to a possible risk of salmonella.

It does not sound like this is a major recall and no serious illnesses in dogs or people have been reported so far.
But it is pretty much common sense that any raw chicken is probably going to have salmonella on it, so I don't see it as a big deal recall. This is nothing like the mass poisoning of many dogs by Diamond using melamine from China, and by Natura having a dangerous mold in the grains used in their foods.
And it is certainly common sense to wash your hands after you handle any raw meats or raw dog food. Natures Variety Is a pretty decent company that makes a quality frozen raw food but I thought I would post this in case anyone is feeding it.
