To add a completely new dog I have confirmed is not already in the database (in this case, Vise-Grip’s Black Witch), I would enter her FULL registered name into the prescribed space, hit “submit,” and this is the next field I would get:
The submission returns several dogs with the word “Black” in it, but because the specific dog “Black Witch” is not in the database, at the bottom of the page I am given the options (checkboxes) to 1) NOT create a new dog, 2) to create a new MALE dog “Vise-Grip’s Black Witch,” or 3) to add a new FEMALE dog “Vise-Grip’s Black Witch,”. Well, because Black Witch is female I would click the 3rd option in this case, and then click the Submit button, which would add her to the database. (This feature, of forcing a decision on sex before the dog can be entered, will prevent problems later on where lazy people don’t bother to enter the sex.)
As soon as I enter Black Witch as a female, I am then taken to her bulldog_details.php page, which is where I can now put in ALL of her pertinent information:

Anyway, after I enter in all the pertinent information, I would then click Save, which would take me to a blank pedigree of Black Witch (with no photos or pedigree yet), but with all the pertinent details I entered in previously:
From this point, I can then go to the Media Center where I can enter-in up to 4 photos, as well as a video display, and I would follow that by entering-in the Owner and Breeder, and then finally the pedigree. Here’s how:
