She showed a tremendous amount of gameness but at no point was she defenseless or her owners would have picked her up.

I doubt that very much.
Anyway, we can debate this forever, but what's done is done.
Try to get a couple of decent photos of her, and post her pedigree, because she damned sure deserves to be remembered ... and is going to be a hard act to follow for GDOY.
