Thread: CANDIDATES FOR DOY/GDOY 2015

Thumbs Up CANDIDATES FOR DOY/GDOY 2015

Folks, it will be August tomorrow ... and only 4 months to go for another DOY title (time flies when you're getting old )

Who do you like for Dog of the Year, and why? Who did they beat? What is their record?

Who do you like for Game Dog of the Year and why? What obstacles did they overcome to win? What obstacles couldn't they overcome ... yet never stopped trying?

This is going to be an ongoing candidacy for a few months, so we give EVERYONE a fair shake (pros, cons, etc.)

Who is your call ... and why?

    Jack

Well again I'm biased but El Titere for amazing display in come from behind marathon race, not only proving he is the best a live but also a DEEP GAME BULLDOG..

GrCh's Gizzy, Grip, Titere and Nereyda, then with some more shows to put on dogs like Russian Bobby & Puma might storm to the finish. Ch Jocker might be adding himself to the mix with a showdown soon as well.. Once I get to my laptop I'll add my reasons why. Be patient with me please.

I like Gizzy but his opponents records aren't up there with the rest. Puma is said to be a great but he has a ways to go to be a DOY Candidate...

In Gizzy defense he has actively chased 2 Chs at that weight who keep pushing back or retiring and then un-retire to beat a lesser dog. He still hunting tho and might have best record for season season.. Puma isn't done and he just defeated a ch in a blowout and stalking another..

Rage, you know I am a huge fan of Titere, and I do not have a problem giving him a 3rd title ... IF he deserves it ... but I am not sure his struggling to beat a 2xW in 2 hours qualifies.

Winning 8 might be a valid argument for DOY ... but what were the credentials of his opponent, other than whipping a relative of Titere?

Who did Gizzy beat this year (again "actively chashing" Champions isn't an accomplishment).

Gizzy, Russian Bobby, and Puma are not in this database, does anyone know their pedigrees or have any photos?

    Thanks!

The one he beat was open with no takers for a long time with no takers not sure of the exact time. I'll be 100% honest I have the utmost respect for Titere but I didn't see the point in doing the race with a aging legend, but he showed true regained control and proved once again why he is so great...Gizzy to my knowledge hasn't out raced a titled one yet and Puma is off Machobear or one of those dog's I'll post their peds and you can add them and take the links down.

Gizzy ped is not up for public.

    Here's Puma http://www.thepitbullbible.com/forum...p?dog_id=42714

Unfortunately, "being open with no takers" is not an accomplishment.

    Hadn't he won 2 previously?

That would qualify Titere for GDOY, possibly, but not sure if it's DOY material.

His winning 8 qualifies him though. That is extraordinary.

Then Gizzy has no business being considered.

Sorry, I would not give dogs like Mayday, Machobuck, Nine Milli, etc. a DOY title for beating untitled opponents to make Gr Ch.

I was a huge Mayday fan, but no matter how you slice it, the win over Tant's Cody was not DOY material.

Beating fellow Grand Champions, beating 2 Champions in one year, two 4xWs going at it for #5, things like that are DOY material ... not matching your 4xW into a first-time dog.

This is not "hating," this is being honest and having some kind of STANDARDS for a DOY title that qualify these Champion/Grand Champion as extraordinary, over and above other Champions/Grand Champions, in order to be raised to a DOY status or Candidacy. Beating a 1- or 2xW may get you a legit Grand Championship, but it simply is *not* DOY material. Not IMO, and that goes for my own dogs. I would not give Zukill a DOY either, for beating a 2xW for #5.

Jack Kelly can make whatever decisions he wants, based on politics, friendships, or whatever, but this place isn't run by Jack Kelly it's run by CA Jack, lol, and my rules apply to all.

NO ONE gets favorable treatment ... only fairly-analyzed dog merit qualifies.

Gizzy doesn't even qualify, so it doesn't matter, but only dogs with peds and photos will be considered for Candidacy here.

Puma's ped was here all along, but there are no wins posted.

What did he do to qualify?

I would like to hear about Nereyda, I really like the way she looks, and her resume seems awesome
