Thread: nail trimming

    nail trimming

    Got a new addition but when he got to my house he has long nails.tried trimming them but he has never had his nails trimmed he got agitated I don't have a breeding stand any more I tried a very short tie but he still moved his fewt. Any way I can give him something to make him relax so he dosent get agitated. Any info would hwl thanks

    start messing with his feet, try to get em used to it....go to petco or petsmart the first few times...theylee do it for 10$.....

    Wait a few days so he's somewhat used to you. Put him on the slat mill but make sure one of your foot is keeping it from moving. That always worked cause he's higher off the ground(up to your level)
    If you don't have a slat, you have to get down on the floor with him(down to his level) Talk gently and clip away. Just make sure you clip the tips.

    also, once you do have it done...walk him regularly on cement, helps to keep them filed down!

    So did I. Everytime I showed a dog I shaved their tail bald.

    The best nail care out there is a good pair of walking/running shoes and a six foot lead. (The shoes are for you). LOL EWO
