Berenil is something you need to have onhand always ... as a matter of professionalism ... it is not something to ask for online in an emergency

This is where I get mine: http://www.vetproductsonline.co.za

PS: You can go to a vet and get Imizol overnighted to you from any university with a vet school. Remember, you do NOT have to "prove" your dog has babesia (i.e., wait for test results) to use Imizol legally, so don't let your vet say you "have to wait" for a blood test to give you the drug. The Imizol label specifically says to use the drug for SYMPTOMS of babesia too (lethargy, anemia, fever, etc.), precisely because it can be tough to detect, so INSIST he read the Imizol label online and just get that drug overnighted now.

Start that dog on red cell, or feed fresh liver. A quick search of this site would have yielded you the answer to your question. get it here --> http://www.vetproductsonline.co.za/p...search/berenil

Hmmm thanks for all the useful replies. As for the unnecessary jabs they just that unnecessary . I have read the article and found it very insightful and helpful. Also I did get the information as to how and where to obtain the needed drugs from this site and has now purchased them but my flaw was not having them on hand . The shipping time for them from S.A. is more time than i have. I have also contacted my vet and am having the imizol overnight delivered to me. So see all I needed was the information not to be berated

    Idea

Glad you found the information useful.

I would hardly call my statement, have (Berenil) onhand always ... as a matter of professionalism, "berating," but rather more of A TRUTH THAT EVERY MAN WHO HAS DOGS NEEDS TO HEAR ... for this reason exactly

    No problem amigo.

Trust me, I know the anxiety that comes with having babesia in a dog I care about ... and the unsettling feeling of not having the drug onhand to deal with it on my own yard when needed ... which is *why* I stress making sure people have it onhand so strongly

    Cheers and best of luck,

    Jack
