Im looking to acquire a worthy pup/prospect this summer, I also would like to try to develop a relationship with with honest dogmen in the process. My journey as a dogman has been a bit challenging because I never managed to find a mentor of some kind to take me in nevertheless I have managed to gain knowledge through literature and sites like this one. The area im not knowledgeable in is finding the working stocks and that's where I need help at guys.... in my opinion the only thing I could do is research and look for references of some kind to verify the family of dogs but even after all the red tape there is still a % factor. So with that being said how do I maximise my chances of being successful with finding working stock?

You're more willing to have someone help you when you spend money on their stuff. If you buy an apple, and call Microsoft for support they might tell you to beat it. Find someone who has what you are looking for, purchase it... Go from there.
