Just my own experience here, but a lot of times, it is someone you know. If it's not someone who has been on your yard it is someone that KNOWS your yard. What I mean, it could very well be someone that sees your dogs on the way to work, or they routinely drive by, etc. and know you have dogs. Case you out and then move from there.

I come home one afternoon to 12 dogs missing. I called in sick the next day and asked anyone and everyone, starting at home as my base and went out from there. My nearest neighbor was about 900 meters away and none after that. However, I lived in a terrible place in terms of my dogs being visible. I asked EVERYONE. My mailman of all people tells me "Yep, I seen 3 black males, a white caprice classic with wire hubcaps - not wheels, but hubcaps and I got 3 digits of the license plate" I all the law - turns out they been looking for that car for 2 years in connection with numerous robberies. I start looking for THAT car. I know a guy in the "right" neighborhood that knows people. I offer reward, we load up, within 3 hours we are sitting on top of the car and the perps. In the mean time I had already gotten signs out all over the county with descriptions of the dogs. Dogs start popping up left and right the next day. Every single one had been rolled to the brink of death. Some were already established, very good animals. Of course I come down with all kinds of babesia and shit like that, but I got every fucking dog they stole back. They went to the pen. Not for the dogs b/c they couldn't pin that on them b/c they did not have them in their possession, but they had a long list of other shit.

Get the word out and work hard at finding them. You would be amazed at how much success you can have. I have had those 12, 1 after that and 1 more after that one. Got them all back but one. All were stolen b/c of my location. Great place to live - HORRIBLE place to have dogs. I have 25 acres now. You cannot see a single dog until you are literally right up on one. Great location - KNOCK ON WOOD!

Best of luck. I know the feeling and hate it you are going through this. It will definitely bring out the most vile and vengeful nature one has inside of them. I know

Good post NQK, and good for you to persist in getting your dogs back, a shame they were in such poor shape.

Yes it is usually someone who knows you and knows your yard... Ask ask ask... Offer a reward and another thing, ask the local kids in the area. Kids see a lot and for a reward you might get some useful info...

Good luck and I hope you get them back safely.
Common sense isn't so common these days.

I have them all back, but one pup. They had been rolled. One was 2 weeks out, Even the pregnant bitch and her son who is only 10 months. I guess because he's hot and looks grown because of his size...
