Non APBT owners wanting to be members?

Someone emailed me and said they do not own pit bulls and they own a different breed altogether and asked if it was okay to still join the forum. They basically want access to the videos, articles, and blogs pertaining to the general care of dogs. Do people without bulldogs have business on a bulldog website?

IMO I don't think so. There are often topics discussed that other people will just not understand. But with that being said any entity/person could join any bulldog site regardless and how would we know? We wouldn't!

As it stands there is no screening process for people joining up. They could have just joined and said nothing. The resources here transcends just this breed and can apply to any breed. The bulldog discussions are another story and depending on the degree of the subject matter are best kept in private.

Agreed. No way to know who has what or who owns what.

I have often said the "Pit Bull Bible" turns off a lot of people based on the negative connotations of 'pit bull'. There is so much information in the book and on this site that crosses over to al breeds of dogs.

Double edge sword. Membership is membership. Business is business. The wrong 'anti' gets a shot and the house of cards becomes a house of cards.

Two levels membership, one as is today and maybe a second one at a lower price with access only to preaproved subforums/topics , whatever, the owner has to make some money in order to keep it running at a high level.

The 2 level membership does make sense. People just wanting the videos and info wouldn't pay the higher price just to talk 'bulldogs'. Just my worthless .02.

Nice for their honesty, but best to say no. Unless this person or persons is trying to set you up for a law suite. Check with Jack if this could create a bad legal matter for you. Cheers
