    Fuzzy medium hair Bulldogs

Who has owned, currently owns or knows of this physical characteristic? He was before my time but Midnight cowboy appeared to be of a medium coat and thick tail, what other great dogs had this characteristic?

I've also seen several Hammonds dogs that had a medium coat and thicker tail. Kinda cur dog looking rather than having a fine coat and coach whip tail. Let's hear opinions on why this is.

I have seen a few.. I even had one whose furry tail curled over his back. I always figured it was something in the mix back in the ped popping up... Some recessive gene from something in the mix way back coming to light...

I know APBT's were developed from mixing different breeds to get an end result and I understand there can be variances in the physical appearance of different dogs as well as families of dogs but I often wonder if the shaggycoat of some of these dogs isn't a result of a travel and sales situation that was unintentional rather than a throwback of a planned scenario. lol Although the thought of one of my dogs being the product of a mutt slipping in the gene pool would bother me deeply, I reckon as long as they are Bulldogs in every other aspect then one would just have to deal with the possibility that the extra hair might just be a coincidence. Midnight cowboy was the best example I could come up with. I'm not implying he had a mutt in his breeding, I'm just stating that he had an unusual appearance in comparison to a standard terrier type Bulldog. Never less his mark that he left on today's dogs can't be denied.

    blade,
I know what you mean. I have a Hammonds hound with a tail that is a little, not much, but a little furrier than usual. Also he has a bit of a broke tail, which I have seen with other Hammonds' hounds. There is a small kink in the middle of the tail and where the kink is, the fur is slightly fuzzier. he has a little fuzzier hair on his underside too. Also his fur is a little courser and he seems to have a tougher/thicker skin. No doubt, he looks like a Hammonds' dog though, very junkyard looking lol but handsome in my eyes.he looks hound like in some ways and this is a Somewhat of a common trait for his dogs. When I say hound like, I mean longer muzzle and a little lippy. He is down from Alligator/Panama red blood with a little Tindall blood (Le Blanc/mims/snooty etc). Maybe a recessive trait but he is a bull dog.

Clyde was a big ol beast with a bushy broom stick sized tail. A big goofy dog with a big ol heart.

I had a son of Powerhouse's Ch Deadlift to Janicks Hornet. He had a longer coat than I was use to and it was wavy like. But was a great dog. Definitely confused me. Also had a daughter of Longs weirdo that had the same. She was my second APBT that my father bought for me as a gift. But definitely was a confusing situation when you get one with the longer coat lol.

TGK I've got a grand daughter to DEADLIFT and she has wavy hair at the top portion of her tail going down it several inches. She throws it too!
