Pedigree research madness. Where does it end? LOL
Hello fellow members. I have a dilemma between the older deceased dog man Wesley Truett and a Truitt. I know when I see the Prince dog or Red Boy dogs etc. I know this is who we refer too as Mr. Wesley Truett.
Yet I see some pedigrees on onlines pedigrees that show a Truitt that has Garner and Chinaman/ Boudreaux blended dogs. Like Garner's and Grant's Big Bang x Daniel's Wanda.
Other Truitt pedigrees show dog's out of a dog called Reynold's Jerry etc. Who was a son in law to Joe Beal. This Reynold's fellow was not Fat Bill.
I owned some Joe Beal dogs and Mr. Truett owned one he got from me. I also gave Mr. Joe Beal his last main stud dog off my Young's Chuck dog x Young's Amber. Amber was bred off Mr. Beal's yard along with Young's Flame.
I was away from the dog game a long while. Last time I talked with Mr. Truett. He never mentioned any dog's on his yard from this Reynold's fellow. But over a twenty five year time span he may have.
So what I am asking is; was there another dog man in the game that had some Carver/Boudreaux dogs and even some Joe Beal/Carver dogs by the name of Truitt and not Truett.
Now if they are one and the same person due to a miss spelling. I have some more excellent pedigrees of Mr. Wesley Truett, to be added along with some more of Nat Geo new dogs etc. Any info will be very helpful. Until, Cheers CYJ

Reason: spelling etc.

Well I did some more looking. Especially on the new dogs I am going to put on here. Did some phone calls. Was a spelling error by the person putting the dog's pedigrees on that site.
On this site the information is going to be much more accurate. Some of those other dogs that show Truitt well may be Mr. Wesley Truett. If you see his first name Wesley on a pedigree on other sites. Same person.
He had a large dog yard and most of those other dogs with various pedigrees probably were killed by the Humane Society years back. Cheers

Thanks for clearing up those type things. it is only a handful of people with actual knowledge of those dogs.
When you do those type corrections it makes the 6 and 14 generation pedigrees a useful tool going forward.
Hopefully all is well with you and yours (maybe even up and running since the last time we talked).
Thoughts and prayers.

Ditto EWO. All is well with myself and wife. I pray the same for you and your family.
I had along with S_B and other moderators a year or so back gotten rid of all the duplicate dogs. Now there are over a hundred of them. Someone buys a well known dog. That person wants it registered in their name.
Instead of asking Brick Face or S_B for control of the pedigree. They add the pedigree again as a new dog with no siblings and create a duplicate dog with the correct siblings.. Some even have upfront added pictures of said dog that can make it even harder to correct.
All that had to be done was change the registered name and in the below remark section. Put the last owner's name as it was formerly shown and dog sold to them. Very easy to do. Siblings and pictures remain intact.
What is really tough is when a duplicate pedigree has multi duplicates and siblings within the whole pedigree. Hard to find where you have to start to fix the whole mess.
If Brick Face or S_B delete those duplicate pedigrees with siblings. It can cause missing dog's pedigrees and siblings all through the whole system. Like that guy did years back. Took us about two months to get that mess worked out. Cheers

EWO, their still might be another Truitt spelled that way up in the N.C. area. Some of those pedigrees do not look that much like what Mr. Truett had. I still could be wrong. Time will tell as I sort some of it out. Most of it is on onlines pedigree. By the way you only have about 55 days left before renewal.
Last few days I have been using the site for a lot of information and making pedigree comparisons etc. Thanks for sharing that with me. Has been most helpful along with another third site I check things out with. Get two out three pedigrees agreeing on these sites. That will be as good as it will get. Unless we have the UKC or ADBA papers.
If we could get full access to those older UKC pedigrees. That would be quite the eye opener. Cheers

Time flies but i was thinking I had several months. I will check on it.
I will look thru some of the dogs I remember. It seems like there were some "Truitt" dogs bred down out of the Lanier Rex Boy stuff, maybe after Triplet did some of those Red Boy breedings.
Seems like there was the name Truitt around a dog named Dusty whose pedigree came into question years later, or better said there were dogs off another dog that most believed were off Dusty.
Again, that was a long time ago. I will scroll thru and see if anything jumps out.
Hopefully all is well with you and yours.

Ditto EWO. You hit it on the head. I was seeing that same thing. Have more time will look a little deeper. I saw one of those Truitt pedigrees that showed owner's initials as CT instead of WT. So there might be a C. Truitt out there somewhere. There were, counting myself two J. Young's in S.C. that had dogs. I met the fellow. Another Young maybe in Texas or Louisiana. Mr. D. Pulley might know of such a fellow by the name of Truitt.
Some family history on me. Some of the Young's I am from settled in Georgia/Florida/Texas and California. The Pastor that started that Church in Lonesome Dove Texas was a Young. The Young's were from some Germanic Tribes that settled of all places, Staffordshire England. Where all the dog sports flourished including pit dogs, etc. Some later settled in Ireland. Cheers

Check out a book called "Born Fighting" by Dr. James Webb if you are interested in how America was shaped.
You will read about people and they will be basically the same people you grew up and around. Hard workers, hard fighters, hard drinkers, go -getters on the male side and a solid Christian woman that tied the family together.
Most people will recognize their own history from the eyes of another.
It is a good read.
