Incredibly powerful short film. I'm sure many of you, if not most, can relate.

Maybe I missed something, but I don't get it. It seems he put his dog down b/c he had to move. If that's the case, then the dude sucks. If the dog had a disease or something terminal, I kind of understand, but I can't with that dog b/c he wasn't giving "the look". He seemed plenty happy and healthy to me.
I let my dogs tell me when it's time. My life or an inconvenience does not dictate the life or death of any dog I own, never will.
I thought the movie sucked.
Fucking loser self centered piece of shit of a human being betrayed his loyal friend.
I have to agree with nqk and evo on this one. Complete betrayal of his friend.
The dog was being eaten up by cancer. Terminal. I don't know what you guys are smoking, but remind me to keep a distance. LOL
I did not hear any mention of cancer but it was not very loud and hard to hear it all. However some types of cancers can be dealt with. I did hear the guy say he was moving and the dog couldn't make the 5 flights of stairs.
All right, let's be civil
(Friends, colleagues, lend me your ears )
Unfortunately, I won't be able to see the video until I get in the city, but if the guy put the dog down just because he had to move, then I would have to agree with NQK and Evo's sentiment.
However, if the dog had cancer, then a humane death while he still feels pretty good is preferable to it getting to at a point where the dog feels like total hell. (Remember, dying of cancer is supposed to be excruciating ... and bulldogs are TOUGH ... so when the disease gets to a point where they're really draggin-ass, you know the pain has got to be unbearable.)
Anyway, I appreciate the contribution from PrairieDog, because the judgment call to put a dog down is a really personal and tough thing that (yes) we all go through. The key factor should always be whether it is in the dog's best interest, pain- and comfort-wise, it should never be just for "our convenience."
Owning and caring for a dog throughout its life is a 10-15 year task ... and, unfortunately, when it gets right down to it, not many are up for the job.
But those of us who are up for the job, and who really do care about our dogs and stick with them to the end ... ultimately we will come to the point where our little friends are literally dying before our eyes ... and the decision as to "when" to help them cross that last bridge is a truly agonizing one to make.

I just watched the whole video and there is not even 0,000001 % doubt this man loved his dog to death.Uploaded by PhosPictures on 15 dec 2009
Thank You Jason Wood for allowing us this moment.
Oden's struggle with cancer finally came to an end.
May he rest in peace and his memory be eternal.
