Snake bite on head ????

Jack i need some help on this buddy ! she got bit Wensday on the chin by a snake .. don't know what kind , cause she at it the left only a chewed up piece of tail .. i been pumping her with Benadryl and some Tylon 50mg. twice a day .. she looks like she quit swelling , but it's bad .. i've never had one swell like this .. is there anything i could try before i have to take her in ? if the swelling continues , should i take her in ..

only reason i havent already is cause my hounds get bite pretty offten in the swamp where i hunt and they normally fight the infection off with no help .. i think it's just the location of the bite ..

Sorry I missed this Jug.

Benadryl is okay for bee stings and such, but for a serious snakebite, I would give about 10 ml of dex, and give that every morning for at least a few days, and I would be giving 500 mg of cephalexin 3x/day along with it for at least 10 days.

Tylan is for lung infections, not really flesh infections, so cephalexin would be my preferred choice.

This is the worst I've seen one swell. It looked like it got him inside his mouth on his tongue and jaw and again over his left eye. It slowed him down the first couple of days.
